peyton’s senior shoot | waco, tx senior portrait photographer

You will have to forgive me for being woefully behind on updating my blog. I’m going to be working to correct that and, hopefully, slowly but surely, I’ll get caught up.

Taking Peyton’s senior portraits was so much fun! She has been an active member of the Lorena FFA for years so it was ideal to incorporate her show steer in her session. Peyton was a dream to shoot. The camera just eats this girl up! With that smile and those eyes you can certainly see why.

nicholson crew | waco, tx family photographer

How lucky I am? Yet more friends who entrusted me to photograph their beautiful family! We’ve known Brian and Amy for over 7 years now and have watched our families grow. Their three girls are so completely precious and Amy is an absolute saint for her seemingly never ending patience with her card of a husband. I tell her often that I feel her pain. :) I could go on and on about this crew, but it’s late and I’m going to just shut up and show you some of the shots from our time together. Enjoy!

To say I have a soft spot for babies is a bit of understatement. As a matter of fact, I love ALL things baby! Their super snuggliness, sweet baby smell and perfect innocence just make me a gooey puddle of mush. I have to confess that it was really hard for me to actually shoot this session. I just kept wanting to pick him up and cuddle him close. Can you blame me though? I mean, look at this chunka chunka love!

sun flare | i heart faces photo challenge | waco, tx couples photographer

The challenge this week at i heart faces is sun flare and I love a good sun flare shot. Here’s one from a recent a.ma.zing engagement session. This one is pretty subtle, but I just love the way the light is falling on her hair.

What do you get when you have 3 sweet, sweet girls and two pretty fun parents? More of my favorite people! Danny and Pam and their girls are amazing! Talk about a family that loves others selflessly, embraces life, and most importantly treasures each other. See, I told you…awesomeness! Each of the girls has such a distinct and wonderful personality. The oldest is dry and witty and totally will catch you off guard. The middle is going to be a heartbreaker. And seriously, if you don’t fall in love with the baby, then you may not have a heart. :) Needless to say, it was fun session. Here’s a few glimpses from our time together.

baby knox | waco, tx newborn + babies photographer

It’s been a crazy two weeks around these parts and there is nothing that cures the crazies like a snuggly baby. We shot this mini-session back in December and I’m just now getting around to posting it. I confess to using shamelessly using him to brighten my own day. :) Sweet baby Knox spent some time in the hospital with RSV back during all the snow and ice. We are so thankful he is all better now! Isn’t he just precious?

love of a lifetime take 2 | extreme makeover home edition photographer

You may remember the post here or on Facebook that let you know about my utter privilege of photographing the sweet couple that will be featured on this Sunday night’s episode of Extreme Makeover Home Edition. As a matter of fact, you can take a peek at the promo by clicking here. I’m already stockpiling Kleenex for Sunday! I was actually able to watch them go through the house on reveal night in a production trailer on set and I bawled that night. Who knows if I’ll even be able to see through my tears watching the edited version. Many of you had asked and we had actually begun planning a watch party for Sunday night. Unfortunately, my mother-in-law has been (and still is) in ICU all week with a pretty nasty case of pneumonia. Our time, deservedly so, has been consumed with hospital visits on top of everyday life so we won’t be having the watch party after all.

I have, however, been given the go ahead to post some of the shots from our time with them and I am beyond excited to get to share them with you here! The pace of the day was very much hurry up and wait and then click-click-click. Bright, midday sun and an audience of 300 make for interesting conditions, but we rolled with it. I do so hope you’ll watch ABC on Sunday, February 20, and witness for yourselves the spectacular love story that is Patrick and Jessica.

Right off the bat I’ve got to tell you that photographing this session was pretty surreal. You see, I’ve known Mandi for 10 years and when we first met she was in high school and I was teaching. Fast forward a few years and our Pook was the flower girl in her wedding. Fast forward to today and she’s having a baby! Just when I try to be in a state of denial about getting older, reality come and slaps me in the face. LOL She’s still a beautiful person inside and out. She and her super funny husband are just too sweet together. A true perfect match! I know, without a doubt, that they will make amazing parents. I cannot wait to meet baby Corbin!

My entry for this week’s heart challenge at i heart faces. Perfect photo for my sweet girl’s valentines!

brrrr! | waco, tx family candid portrait photographer

Over the Christmas break, I had the privilege of photographing a wonderful family and what troopers they are! Obviously here in central Texas we don’t get the winter the rest of the country gets, but this particular day was extremely cold. Unfortunately for all of us, it was the only time everyone was going to be in town and available for the family shot they wanted. Thanks Nay family for braving the cold with me!
